8th Annual Don Featherstone Tournament at FALL IN!

A good-natured, yet competitive, tournament dedicated to one of the “founding fathers” of miniature gaming that pits teams of club members against one another.

The ultimate prize: the Featherstone Cup. A sizable, high-quality trophy that’s patterned after hockey’s Stanley Cup. The winning club's name will be etched into the side for all time – and they will be allowed to take home the trophy for one year.

This year the tournament is two rounds of competition for points between teams of three or four club members. The best two teams from those rounds will compete in the championship round for the trophy. Teams will not have to field the same team each round. A team of five or six club members, can field one team for the first round, a different team for the second round, etc.

In fact, teams have looked for players (and sometimes figures!!) at the last minute. Stop by and you may be recruited to play or you can save yourself all that pain and just volunteer if teams are short!

The field has been limited to eight clubs. Games will be played using brigade-level Fire & Fury, and 15mm ACW figures on beautiful random terrain.

Armies will be pre-determined and purchased using a point system and each club will bring both a Union and Confederate Army. (Giving folks a chance to show off their figures, each club is providing their own figures.) In order to aid in pre-planning, teams will be given a map of the first round battlefield prior to the purchase of their armies.

Each round will be played on nearly identical terrain over 5’x8’ tables.

Play will be in four-hour rounds: one Friday evening (6 PM – 10 PM), one Saturday morning (9 AM – 1 PM), and the finals Saturday afternoon (2 PM – 6 PM). The games will be in the IKE 1 ballroom.

Overall Coordinator: Michael Panzer, featherstone@fall-in.org. Terrain will be provided for the tournament by the tournament director.
